More about Dogma

by

Dogma films do not cease to impress. Following the German premiere of Susanne Bier’s Elsker dig for evigt and with Ole Christian Madsen’s Kira’s Reason: A Love Story still screening in German movie theatres, German daily, “Der Spiegel” has published a three-page highly positive article about the Dogma phenomenon.
"The Dogma Manifesto means freedom and the influence of the Dogma films goes far beyond Denmark’s borders. The Dogma users got rid of a very heavy and paralysing way of filmmaking, gaining in return more creativity and freedom," concludes Der Spiegel’s film critic.
French daily “L’Express” also examines the Dogma phenomenon with a look at Zentropa’s financial success and Peter Aalbæk Jensen’s love of cigars, after a trip made to Avedore renamed “the Cinecittà of the North” by the French weekly, and the Nordic answer to Rome’s legendary film studio.
