- Stephen Daldry, Stephen Frears and young Christopher Nolan are the Brit filmmakers honoured by the Californian film event

Three of the UK’s most high profile “hot” directors are to be honoured at this year’s Palm Spring International Film Festival - 9-20 January 2003.
Stephen Daldry, whose latest film The Hours, starring Nicole Kidman and Meryl Streep, received 7 Golden Globe nominations and lavish praise from US critics, and Stephen Frears (Dirty Pretty Things [+see also:

) are the International Filmmakers of the Year.
Christopher Nolan, whose Hollywood-produced Insomnia was a huge hit, will receive a special Visionary Filmmaker Award on 16 January.
Also at Palm Springs will be Scotland’s Peter Mullan (The Magdalene Sisters [+see also:
