Swedish week in Vietnam

by

Swedish films will travel all the way to Vietnam later this month for a review organised by the Swedish Film Institute and their Vietnamese counterpart. Swedish Film Week will be held in Hanoi and Ho Chi Min City, will be inaugurated by Jan Troell’s Så vit som en snö (As White As In Snow) and will end with Kjell Sundavall’s Grabben i graven bredvid (The Guy in the grave next door).
The programme also includes a number of films portraying Sweden through the ages, by directors of the calibre of Victor Sjostrom’s and his Korkarlen and Ingmar Bergman’s Fanny and Alexander. Given Vietnamese interest in Swedish cinema, the review will also feature a number of round-table discussions on issues like film policy, development and funding, as well as on increasing co-operation between Vietnamese TV stations and the domestic film industry.
