Kaestner's trio
For the third time, a novel by popular German writer, Erich Kaestner has been brought to the screen. Das fliegende Klassenzimmer, directed by Tomy Wigand, co-produced by Bavaria Film and Lunaris/Odeon Film, with a Euros766,938 contribution from the Bavarian Film Fund, will be distributed in Germany on 16 January, by courtesy of Constantin Film.
The earlier adaptations of Kaestner’s “Emil und die Detektive” and “Puenckthen und Anton” were popular hits and seen, respectively by 1.6million and 1.8million German filmgoers. A good portent for Das fliegende Klassenzimmer.
