Hill climbs at Icon

Icon Entertainment, co-owned by Mel Gibson and producer Bruce Davey, have promoted the current CEO of their UK distribution arm Icon Film Distribution Ltd (IFDL) Nik Hill as CEO of the whole UK Icon Group, parent company of IFDL and the international sales outfit, Icon Entertainment International (IEI).
Hill, who joined Icon in 1999 from Pathe Distribution, will be assisted at the UK Icon Group by Andy Mayson, named Chief Operating Officer (COO). Mayson is a former managing director of Artists Independent Network (AIN).
The reshuffle of Icon UK’s staff also includes the promotion of Elizabeth Draper to the position of general manager of IFDL while Annabelle Howard becomes head of marketing. Alexandra Keen was appointed Legal and Business Affairs manager and will report to Icon UK’s head of Legal and Business, Christos Michaels and Simon Crowe and Caroline Johnson will continue as, respectively, head of International Sales and head of International marketing for IEI.
Icon Entertainment’s production line-up includes The Singing Detective with Robert Downey Fr and Robin Wright Penn that will premiere at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, and UK comedies Gladiatress, directed by Brian Grant and starring Fiona Allen, and Blackball, directed by comedian Mel Smith, with Paul Kaye and James Cromwell.
