Submissions to Solinas
- Just written a sure-fire hit screenplay? Hurry! You have until 3 March 2003 to enter it for this important Competition
Set up in memory of the Sardinian author of screenplays like Queimada directed by Gillo Pontecorvo and Costa-Gavras’ Hanna K, the deadline for submissions to the 2003 edition of the Solinas Prize - Franco Solinas Award – Writing for Cinema is 3 March 2003.
Ten finalists will compete for a cash prize of Euros10,000 and four writing scholarships, each worth Euros5,000.
The Solinas is where major Italian filmmakers first presented screenplays that went on to become major productions: past Solinas winners include Mimmo Calopresti and his La Seconda Volta, Marco Tullio Giordana and I Cento Passi (The Hundred Steps) and Marco Ponti and his hit directorial debut, Santa Maradona. This year the organisers, in collaboration with the Emilia Romagna Region, the Municipality and Film Archive of Bologna and ITC Movie, will also create and assign a Story Development Fund.
