21/01/2003 - MFG Agency & broadcasters ZDF & SWR3 to split costs of first-time films, up to Euros 400,000

Germany’s MFG Media Agency and the Film Baden-Wuerttemberg film and audiovisual commission presented a new financing scheme for the production of first-time films. "Fifty-Fifty” was developed together with two of Germany’s leading broadcasters, ZDF and South West German Television - SWR3. The MFG agency and the broadcasters will each contribute 50 per cent of the film’s budget, with an upper limit of Euros400,000. The scheme, which may also be extended to include screenplays and direction, is open to production companies located in the Baden–Wuerttemberg area.
