The 53rd Berlinale 2003 is taking form with the announcement of the films selected for screening in the 18th edition of the International Panorama.
The Panorama is the part of the official programme which is, successfully, dedicated primarily to art-house films and films directed by their authors.
The Panorama programme includes 34 features, 12 documentaries and 23 shorts with 26 world premieres, 9 of which are directorial debuts. For the first time the short films will be screened in sets in their very own theatre, the CinemaxX6, together with the short films.
The main Panorama Programme will open with Jagoda u Supermarketu, a Yugoslavian-German co-production directed by Dusan Milic and produced by Emir Kusturica.
The Panorama Special will open in the Zoo Palast with an Indian film entitled Mondo Meyer Upakhyan (A Tale of a Naughty Girl) by Buddhadeb Dasgupta. Panorama will celebrate the 100th birthday Japanese filmmaker Yasujiro Ozu with a retrospective of his work that will begin with his 1960 classic, Akibiyori (Late Autumn) The following European films will take part in Panorama:
