Three Britfilms go Tiger-hunting in Rotterdam

Two UK productions and one UK co-production are among the 14 first and second feature films competing for the VPRO Tiger Awards at the Rotterdam International Film Festival (22 Jan 22- 2 Feb).
Bodysong produced by Janine Marmot (Hot Property Films Ltd) is the directorial feature debut by Simon Pummell whose Channel Four animated and fiction films won many international awards. This project was developed simultaneously as a film, website and an exhibition, and is an ode to human life in all its forms, and a meticulous montage of familiar and heretofore unknown footage from all over the world.
Principles of Lust, produced by Madonna Blast of Blast! Films, is the first feature film by Penny Woolcock, a highly respected TV director. The film will have its world premiere in Rotterdam. Pathe International is handling the international sales of both.
Noi Albinoi is an Icelandic-UK co-production that was written and directed by Dagur Kari, best known for her multi-award-winning short films Lost Weekend and Dramarama. Noi Albinoi was co-produced in the UK by Sol Gatti Pascual with Iceland’s Zik Zak Productions, Germany’s Essential Filmproduktion and Denmark’s M&M Productions. Both Noi Albinoi and Bodysong received funding from the Film Council’s , with support from the Film Council’s New Cinema Fund.
