Lilja 4 Ever “bags” 5 Guldbagges

by Lukas Moodysson dominated the 2002 Guldbagge Awards that were presented in Stockholm on 3 February. The film, which is also Sweden’s candidate for this year’s best foreign language film Oscar, won best film, director, screenplay (Moodysson), actress (Oksana Akinsjina) and cinematography (Ulf Brantås).
Michael Nyqvist won the best actor award for his starring role in this year’s best performing domestic production, The Guy in the Grave Next Door, which reported over 830,000 admissions in 2002.
The second most popular Swedish film of 2002: a comedy entitled The Reunion(400,000 admissions) gave Cecilia Frode the opportunity to win a Guldbagge for best supporting actress.
The best supporting actor Guldbagge went to Göran Ragnerstam for Suxxess while Victor And His Brothers by Mårten Klingberg won best short film. Best documentary was The Bricklayer by Stefan Jarl.

was named best foreign language film of the year. Cinematographer Gunnar Fischer won a Lifetime Achievement Award, and veteran director Vilgot Sjöman won the 2002 Ingmar Bergman Award.
