“Martin is a proven talent,” said Klint. “In signing him, LevelK has also collectively engaged the star team Martin has surrounding him." Applause won several international awards for Paprika Steen’s exceptional performance, such as Best Actress at Karlovy Vary 2009 and at the Danish national Robert Awards. US distributor World Wide Motion Picture Corporation launched Applause in Los Angeles on December 3.
Zandvliet's new project Dirch is a biopic about the legendary Danish comic actor Dirch Passer, played on screen by Nicolaj Lie Kaas. “Dirch Passer was second to none on the Danish scene in revue theatre and on film. He was our Dean Martin, Lenny Bruce, Andy Kaufman. But he was also blinded by his own success and he let down his family, his children, his best friend and not least himself in his efforts to be seen, understood and loved,” explained the director.
Co-produced by Nordisk Film, Dirch will be launched in 2011.
