Elsa Martínez rounds off an exceptional end of year with her election to the EUFCN - European Film Commissions Network’s board of directors, which was announced last week in Brussels. This appointment follows the one received on November 12, when she became President and Treasurer of the Spanish Film Commission.

With a greater presence in one of the EU’s main film commission bodies, it is hoped that Spain will have greater access to and knowledge of all the information and the European Union funding lines for the audiovisual industry in this sector.

On November 12, at the Seville International Locations Expo (SILE), the Spanish Film Commission’s new board of directors was announced. Martínez will be joined by Piluca Querol (Andalucia Film Commission) as Vice-President and Secretary and Julia Goytisolo (Barcelona-Catalunya Film Commission), Rubén Gundín (Extremadura Film Commission) and Koldo Lasa (Navarra Film Commission) as Vice-Presidents.

Moreover, Martínez is general manager of Ciudad de la Luz Studios, Spain’s largest film complex, where recent film shoots have included J.A. Bayona’s The Impossible and Álex de la Iglesia’s A Sad Trumpet Ballad [+see also:
