Garandeau appointed president of CNC

Succeeding Véronique Cayla, who is leaving for ARTE (see news), Eric Garandeau has been appointed president of the National Film and Moving Image Centre (CNC) and takes up his post on January 1, 2011.

Garandeau (37) is already a seasoned professional. A graduate of ENA and financial auditor, he started his career as official representative of the head of France Télévision from 2001-2002.

He was then an adviser to Culture Minister Jean-Jacques Aillagon from 2002-2004, before occupying the post of financial and legal director of the CNC. Since 2007, he has worked as culture and communications adviser to French President Nicolas Sarkozy.
