Two Danish films have been selected for the Berlinale’s Generation 14Plus sidebar: Heidi Maria Faisst’s second feature Rebounce, produced by Zentropa, and Rune Schjøtt’s Skyscraper, produced by Fine & Mellow.

Working from her own original script, in Rebounce Faisst tells the story of a young girl who enters the world of parties, drugs, fast cash and men to try to impress and win the love of her mother, just released from prison. The director also looked at mother-daughter relationships in her feature debut The Blessing, winner of the Church of Sweden Film Prize and the FIPRESCI Jury Award at Gothenburg last year.

(2005) and wrote Martin de Thurah's short film Young Man Falling, selected at Cannes 2008 in Critics’ Week. His feature film debut Skyscraper, based on his own original script, is a coming-of-age story about a 17-year-old boy who lives in a small claustrophobic town, until his feelings for a young blind girl points to a new, promising future.

Rebounce is scheduled to open domestically on March 31 and Skyscraper on December 31 of next year. Both films will be released in Denmark by Nordisk Film Distribution and are handled internationally by TrustNordisk.

Another Scandinavian film, Norwegian title The Liverpool Goalie by Arild Andresen, was selected in the Generation KPlus section.

The films of the Berlinale’s Generation sidebar will screen at a new venue, the House of World Cultures, from February 10-20, 2011.
