Nominated 15 times before and crowned twice in 1981 and 1991, Gérard Depardieu (Mammuth) will compete for the 2011 Best Actor César against four thesps who have never won before: Romain Duris (Heartbreaker), Eric Elmosnino (Je T’Aime, Moi Non Plus), Jacques Gamblin (The Names of Love) and Lambert Wilson (Of Gods and Men).

Battling it out for Best Actress are two previous winners: Catherine Deneuve (Potiche) was crowned in 1981 and 1993, while Isabelle Carré (Romantics Anonymous [+see also:
