With just two days left to run, attention at the Berlin Film Festival is turning to the likely winners. The frontrunners are The Hours by Stephen Daldry, starring the “heavenly trio” of Meryl Streep, Nicole Kidman and Julianne Moore, Adaptation by Spike Jonze and Hero by Zhang Yimou.
Germany’s Good bye Lenin! and Spanish-Canadian co-production, Mi vida sin mi (My Life Without Me), produced by Pedro Almodovar’s El Deseo will almost certainly win awards too. Gabriele Salvatores’, I’m Not Scared is doing some excellent business at the Market, something that the jury will certainly take notice of. Berlin is full of fans of Spike Lee (25th Hour) and Patrice Chéreau (Son frère - His Brother).
