An Algerian Journey

- Charef's Bent Keltoum, a Franco-Belgian coproduction about one woman's Algerian journey is out today

Mehdi Charef’s latest film, Bent Keltoum (Keltoum’s Daughter), a road movie about a woman of Arab origins called Rallie ( Cylia Malki) and the daughter of a man called Keltoum, who crosses Algeria in seach of her roots.
Charef, an Algerian filmmaker who lives in France, uses this film to portray the harsh reality of everyday life for women in his native land. Co-produced by Belgium (Rosanne Van Haesbrouck for To Do Today Productions, Arlette Zylberberg for RTBF - Radio Télévision Belge de la Communauté Française and by the following French companies : Cinétévé, Arte, France 2 Cinéma, StudioCanal and Canal Horizons, Bent Keltoum is released in Belgium by Imagine Film Distribution on 12 February.
