Carrere Group enters distribution arena

by

French film production company, the Carrere Group entered the theatrical distribution arena on Wednesday 12 February when their new distribution arm released La légende de Parva, an animated feature directed by Jean Cubaud, onto 100 French screens.
Coproduced by the Carrere Group with Italy’s Filmauro with a Euros5.2m budget, La Légende de Parva is based on sketches and cartoons by Italian illustrator and cartoonist Milo Manara. Italian screenwriter Vincenzo Cerami, who worked with filmmakers like Federico Fellini, Pier Paolo Pasolini, Gianni Amelio and Roberto Benigni (Life is Beautiful and Pinocchio), adapted them for the screen. The voice talents for La Légende de Parva include André Dussollier, Isabelle Carré, Ludivine Sagnier and Irène Jacob.
Eric Marti the former head of the SND and currently a freelance consultant with, amongst others, the CNC, oversaw the launch the distribution arm of Carrere Group hoping it will become a leader in the distribution of the ever-increasing number of animated films being produced. A sector that is dominated by Gebeka Films.
