Greek heroes in cinema

The Greek Film Center and the Greek National Film Archives have organised a special retrospective dedicated to films about Greek mythology and heroes like Ulysses and Prometheus. Entitled "Characters of Ulysses and Prometheus in film", the review is being held at the Trianon cinema in Athens from 21-28 February.
The programme includes the following titles: Viaggio in Italia by Roberto Rossellini, Life and Death of Colonel Blimp (1943) by Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger, Wim Wenders’ Lisbon Story, Theo Angelopoulos’ Ulysses Gaze and The Suspended Step of the Stork, the Cohen brothers’ O Brother Where are Thou?, Happy Homecoming and Comrade by Leftheris Xanthopoulos and Jean-Perre Jeunet’s Alien Resurrection.
