A "Bouquet" for Cédric Kahn

by

- Carole Bouquet and Jean-Pierre Darroussin star in Kahn's latest film, Feux Rouges based on a Simenon novel. A Euros five million budget and 10 weeks on location in Paris

Carole Bouquet and Jean-Pierre Darroussin are to co-star in French director Cédric Kahn’s next film, Feux rouges (Red Fires), based on a novel by Georges Simenon.
It is the story of a couple going though a crisis in their relationship who have a chance encounter with a criminal. This will be 36-year-old Kahn’s sixth feature film, and his first for three years after Roberto Succo, which was selected for competition at the 2001 edition of Cannes.
Feux Rouges will be made over a ten-week period on location in Paris and is scheduled to go into production late in March. This will also be Kahn’s first film with major stars like Bouquet and Jean-Pierre Darroussin (whose recent Ah! Si j’étais riche, directed in 2002 by Gérard Bitton and Michel Munz, sold 1.1 million tickets). The presence of these two actors will undoubtedly contribute to the box office appeal of Feux Rouges.
Co-produced by Alicécléo and France 3 Cinéma with a budget of around Euros5m, Feux Rouges is a professional turning point in the career of a filmmaker who won the Jean Vigo Award in 1994 for Trop de bonheur, and the Louis Delluc award in 1998 for L’ennui.
