Weerasethakul, Mazzacurati and Torre head Venice juries
Film directors Apichatpong Weerasethakul, Carlo Mazzacurati and Roberta Torre have been chosen as presidents of three juries at this year’s Venice Film Festival, which will run from August 31-September 10, 2011.
Thai director Weerasethakul, who won the Palme d'Or at Cannes 2010 for Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives [+see also:
film profile] and was selected in competition at Venice in 2006 with Syndromes and a Century, will head the Horizons jury.
Mazzacurati, who was selected at the Venice Mostra 2010 with The Passion [+see also:

film profile], will preside over the ''Luigi De Laurentiis'' Venice Award for a Debut Film jury.
