Access is a project-based training initiative that will benefit 25 independent film and documentary producers from countries around the southern Mediterranean basin. This unique initiative is made-up of two residential training workshops and an online training period. Access will address all areas of the filmmaking process from development, financing, coproduction, legal issues and deal terms through to marketing, distribution and digital media (digital distribution, social media, online advertising and marketing, new business models and exploitation of digital media platforms), as well as the pitching forum.. The two residential training modules will be of a 4 to 5 day duration, composed of plenary sessions, group tutorials, one-to-one meetings and case studies. The online training module will be managed over a 10 day period during which participants are able to explore in great detail the packaging of their project with leading professionals from the entertainment industry.

The first residential workshop is due to take place in January/February 2012 in Tunisia, the second, online workshop will take place in June, 2012, and the third residential workshop will take place in Jordan in September 2012.

Access aims to reinforce and support the creation of the sustainable Mediterranean industry by enabling producers in the region to be stronger in their markets and more competitive in the global market.

Access has the financial support of Euromed Audiovisual Program of the European Union through the Media Business School, as well as the partnership of APIMED - Association of Independent Mediterranean Producers (Spain); Sud Ecriture Scénario (Tunisia); and Red Sea Institute of Cinematic Arts (Jordan).

All Mediterranean producers interested may apply directly on-line, from June 30th, on Access’s web site www.euromed.mediaschool.org
