Love, Romanian style triumphs in Mons

Occident by Romanian film director Christian Mungiu won the Love Film Festival in Mons on 21 February.
Presided over by Mylène Demongeot, the jury of Bernard Farcy, Bénédicte Delmas, Bernard Menez, Peter Patzak, Dominique Deruddere, Fatou N'Diaye, Laila Eloui, Robert Manthoulis, Bernard Stora and Carmine Fornari also designated Lazaro Ramos as best actor for Madame Satâ by Brazilian filmmaker Karim Aïnouz. Germany’s Matthias Pacht won the best screenplay award for his My Brother is a Vampire while the "Coup de Cœur" (Falling-in-love) trophy went to Greece for Diskolis apocheretismi : o babas mou by Penny Panayotopoulou. Marocco’s Daoud Aoulad Syad got a special mention for Aoud Rih (“The Horse of the Winds”).
