Apulia Film Commission supports 16 film projects

Sixteen projects (four features, two TV series, eight documentaries, one short film and a video clip) have obtained a contribution from the Apulia Film Commission as part of the second tranche of its Film Fund for 2011 (a fund for film productions to be made in Puglia) for a total investment of 643 thousand euros.

The four feature films selected include: E' stato il figlio by Daniele Ciprì (Faro Film), the shooting of which took place between Brindisi and the provinces and recently ended, starring Toni Servillo, which gained 100 thousand euros; the same amount was given to Il cielo ovunque by Puglia’s Michele Bia (Jasmine Film), which will be shot in 30 days between Gravina di Puglia and the Murge; 60 thousand euros meanwhile go to Salvo by Antonio Piazza and Fabio Grassadonia (Acaba Produzioni), for 24 days’ filming in Bari; while Controra - Midday Demons by Rossella De Venuto (Interlinea) gets 80 thousand euros for 23 days’ filming between Giovinazzo, Trani, Molfetta, Bitonto and Andria.

The documentaries to receive funding are eight: Mohammed Dalì - Istant Movie by Antonio Laforgia (Oz Film), gains 8 thousand euros; Gitanistan - Lo Stato immaginario dei Rom salentini by Pierluigi De Donno and Claudio Giagnotti (Max Man), 10 thousand euros, as for Tratturi by Michele Bertini Malgarini (Rossellini Film & Tv) and Dal Tavoliere al Delta by Alessandro Rocca (Terra del Fuoco); Vive le rock by Alessandro Valenti (Saletta Film) and La sesta corda by Beppe Sbrocchi (Tiji Entertainment) win 15 thousand euros each; 7 thousand euros go to L’odore della terra by Cristiano Bortone (Orisa Produzioni); 20 thousand euros go to Homens que plantam arvores (Men who plant trees) by Alessandro Acito (LilLab).

The two TV series to be filmed in the Salento are: Il commissario Zagaria by Antonello Grimaldi (Alba Film 3000, 100 thousand euros) and Il prefetto Mori di Carlo Carlei (Artis edizioni digitali, 80 thousand euros). Those who also received AFC’s funding are short film Cucito addosso by Giovanni La Pàrola (Filmando, 20 thousand euros) and video clip The Friend by Ivan Iusco (Minus Habens Records, 8 thousand euros).

The expiration date for the next tranche of the AFC Film Fund is August 31, 2011.
