film profile] on German screens, and a rumour has been circulating early this week that the New York-born director is planning to shoot his next film in Bavaria, in Munich.
Faced with the prohibitive cost of making films in the United States, the Manhattan director is continuing his tour of Europe. After the UK, Spain and France, he is currently in Rome shooting The Bop Decameron.
His next move eastwards has yet to be confirmed: negotiations are apparently underway with Bavaria Studios. The budget for Allen’s German venture would be around €17m and shooting would take place next summer. The rest is being kept a closely guarded secret.
