Mod and Apaches join forces on Torregrossa’s thriller Fin
Two of the most powerful independent producers to have emerged in recent years, Mod Producciones (Agora [+see also:

film profile]) and Apaches Entertainment (The Impossible, Intruders, Verbo, which are yet to be released), have joined forces alongside Misent Producciones on the production of Jorge Torregrossa’s debut feature, a thriller entitled Fin (“End”), which started shooting at the beginning of this month.
They will also have backing from the film arm of Antena 3, which in the last three years has become a fixture of the most successful Spanish productions, both at home and abroad (Planet 51 [+see also:
film profile], Julia’s Eyes [+see also:
film profile], Torrente 4 [+see also:
film profile], all Woody Allen’s films produced by Mediapro and many more besides).
Of course, Torregrossa couldn’t have surrounded himself with a better team with which to make the leap to features, for besides this, scriptwriting duties have been handled by none other than Jorge Guerricae Chevarría (Cell 211 [+see also:
interview: Daniel Monzón
film profile]) and Sergio G. Sánchez (The Orphanage [+see also:
film profile]), who have penned a big-screen adaptation of David Monteagudo’s homonymous novel, one of last year’s surprise publishing hits.
A group of friends get together at a house in the mountains after years of not seeing each other. At first sight, it appears that nothing has changed between them, but behind the laughter and anecdotes lies a murky episode from the past which continues to haunt them. Suddenly, a strange incident changes their plans, leaving them completely cut off and with no means of communication with the outside world. The cast is headed by Maribel Verdú.
According to Torregrossa, Fin "is a genre film that uses the thriller style to separate out the fine threads that move us as people: desires, frustrations, the need to overcome, curiosity". Shooting will take place in locations around Madrid and Valencia during September and October.
