11 graduates of the Baden-Wuerttemberg Film Academy have joined forces and created the Studio Soi to produce animated films for cinema and television, as well as videoclips and adverts. The 11 include directors Chris Stenner and Heidi Wittlinger who were nominated for an Oscar in the best short animated film category in 2001 for Das Rad, as well as others who won awards at specialist festivals like the London Effects & Animation Festival (LEAF) and Annecy. To facilitate the start-up process the Baden-Wuerttemberg Academy is giving Studio Soi the VGF scholarship: consists of Euros5000.
