Scamarcio as roaming artist in Francesco Amato's Cosimo e Nicole

by

There's a gust of European wind for the next film starring Riccardo Scamarcio, Cosimo and Nicole by Francesco Amato. Produced by Cattleya and Fastfilm, in collaboration with Rai Cinema and with the support of the Film Commission Torino Piemonte, the new feature film from the director of Ma che ci faccio qui! will in fact be filmed in Italy, France and Belgium.

Written by the director together with Daniela Gambaro and Giuliano Miniati, the screenplay centres on the love that blossomed in the 2001 G8 in Geneva, between Italian Cosimo and French girl Nicole. Alongside Scamarcio, who has recently finished shooting Il rosso e il blu by Giuseppe Piccioni and this summer participated in Bop Decameron by Woody Allen, will be Poupoupidou's actress Clara Ponsot.

Young and nomadic, Cosimo and Nicole travel around Europe living out their greatest passion: music. Back in Genoa, they start working for a friend of theirs, a crafty 50-year-old who organizes concerts. Everything seems to be turning out for the best, until Alioune, a young immigrant builder, falls off some scaffolding. The brush with tragedy risks damaging the love between the two and forces them to make changes which could take them down different paths.

The shooting of Cosimo e Nicole, which has just started, will last seven weeks: the first two will take place in Genoa (also thanks to support from the Genova-Liguria Film Commission), then in the region of Piemonte, in France and Belgium.
