Lionsgate juices Lemon

Lionsgate UK is producing its first ever comedy, starring Keith Lemon (pictured), host of popular television show Celebrity Juice. Keith Lemon: The Film commences principal photography at Belfast locations on November 17.
The film is about Lemon following his dreams of becoming a successful entrepreneur, like his hero Richard Branson. The film will mark Paul Agunawela’s directorial debut and is co-written by him with Leigh Francis and Avid Merrion.
Lionsgate UK is producing alongside Generator Entertainment with funding from Northern Ireland Screen. Mark Huffam (Mamma Mia! [+see also:
film profile]), Simon Bosanquet (Life and Death of Peter Sellers [+see also:
film profile]) and Aidan Elliott for Generator Entertainment are producers and Zygi Kamasa, CEO of Lionsgate UK will executive produce. Nick Manzi and Emma Berkofsky developed the film in house and will also executive produce for Lionsgate UK. Additional finance comes from London post house Molinare.
Kamasa said, “Keith Lemon is someone that everyone in the UK wants to be or wants to be with. Given his universal appeal and electric popularity with the ladies, making this film will prove to be an absolute rollercoaster of a ride for us, exposing Keith’s natural talent – something he is very used to doing both on and off screen.”
In addition to Keith Lemon: The Film, Lionsgate UK recently announced they are co-producing Jonathan Teplitzky’s The Railway Man starring Colin Firth and executive producing Mike Newell’s Great Expectations which started shooting on October 10.
