''The film’s story is true", states Placido, "it was told to me by an old friend, a pizza-maker from the South who lives in Milan and who as a young boy had lived in the shacks of Italian immigrants in Germany together with his father". The main characters include Francesco Scianna, already directed by Placido in Angel of Evil: "My role", explains the handsome Sicilian actor, last seen at the latest Rome Film Festival in L'industriale [+see also:

(see news), "is that of a Neapoletan pedlar of low-quality fabrics of dubious origin who, after a stint in jail, emigrates to Germany in search of work. Here he forms an affection for the boy from Trentino".

In Trentino, Itaker’s crew shot in Val di Non, in Trento and in Rovereto, in the premises of the former tobacco manufacturer. The German scenes, meanwhile, will be shot in certain areas of Bucarest, whose architectural style is reminiscent of 60s Germany. The film, supported by the Trentino Film Commission, will be distributed by Cinecittà Luce in 2012.
