FFF-Bayern presents its annual results
Klaus Schaefer, head of FilmFernsehFonds Bayern, expressed his satisfaction that the “German film industry has been able to pick up again after a difficult 2010 and 2011” during the presentation of the Bavarian institution’s results for the past year.
Contributors to FFF-Bayern include the regional government (51% of its funds), regional channel Bayerische Rundfunk, the BLM and several national channels (ZDF, ProSievenSat and RTL). Its budget for 2011 was almost €30m, including €1.5m contributed by regional fund Bayerische Bankenfonds; almost half of its budget (€14.5m) was allocated for feature film production funding. In total, €301.5m of investment was generated in the region.
The most positive element of the year was the increase, by over 1,000, in the days of film shoots in Bavaria compared to 2010, reaching the unprecedented figure of 3,557 days.
The films financed by the institution achieved box-office takings of €78.2m, i.e. 26% more than the previous year. Among the main hits were two 3D films: Vicky and the Treasure of the Gods [+see also:
