Cultural interest recognition and contributions for Salvatores, Verdone, Marra, Moroni

Oscar-winner Gabriele Salvatores’s much awaited new film, Educazione siberiana (photo), is one of ten titles which have been recognised as being of cultural interest and are funded by the film sub-committee of the Ministry for cultural goods and activities, Cinema General Directorate. Based on Nicolai Lilin’s first novel, starring John Malkovich (see the news) and produced by Cattleya, Educazione siberiana has received a contribution of €800 000.

The list of films funded also includes Carlo Verdone’s Posti in piedi in paradiso (produced by Filmauro, €650 000); Sergio Castellitto’s Venuto al mondo (Picomedia-Alien Produzioni, €700 000); Francesco Munzi’s Anime nere (Cinemaundici, 400mila euro); Viaggio sola di Maria Sole Tognazzi (Bianca Film, €400 000); Vincenzo Marra’s La prima luce (Palomar-Indigo Film, €350 000); Vittorio Moroni’s Se chiudo gli occhi non sono più qui (50N, €200 000).
