Pesaro Festival dedicated to Nanni Moretti and documentary
The 48th edition of the International Festival of New Cinema (from June 25 - July 2012), will be largely dedicated to Italian cinema. Directed by Giovanni Spagnoletti, the event will offer a complete retrospective of the works of Nanni Moretti (pictured), and a significant focus on documentary filmmaking, which has recently become one of filmmakers’ most popular fields of experimentation.
Also in the programme is a tribute to the Oberhausen Manifesto on its fiftieth anniversary, with titles from the main players of new German cinema such as Alexander Kluge and Edgar Reitz, and a day of examining the economic impact of festivals through the presentation of a research project funded by Milan’s IULM (see the news ).
