Starring Theódór Júlíusson, Margrét Helga Jóhannsdóttir, Elma Lísa Gunnarsdóttir and Thorsteinn Bachmann, Volcano is described as a late coming-of-age tale of a 67-year-old custodian and volcano survivor. After retirement, estranged from his family and with hardly any friends, he tries to come to terms with the rest of his life.

After Cannes, the local Zik Zak Filmworks production with Denmark’s Fine & Mellow Productions A/S collected a Silver Hugo in Chicago and the Krzysztof Kieslowski Award in Denver, adding top prizes in Montreal, Transilvania (Cluj), Sao Paulo, and Valladolid, not forgetting the Golden Puffin in Reykjavik. TrustNordisk handles international sales.
