The deal was negotiated by Catia Rossi, who represents RAI Trade, and Adopt Film’s Co-Managing Executive Tim Grady. "As a long-time fan of the Taviani brothers we couldn’t be happier with this acquisition”, said Grady. "Caesar Must Die is an incredibly poignant film. It portrays how art can liberate the soul and profoundly change one’s view of the world. But it also shows how such a change can reveal an abyss of loss and regret. The film should be an inspiration for many students previously unfamiliar with the accessible work of these masters as well as for long-time admirers of riveting Italian cinema".

"After a good 20 years Italian cinema is back to winning in Berlin. It has done so with a politically engaged film which tackles a difficult theme, with the sort of language of great cinema which only our best authors can master", says Paolo Del Brocco, the managing director of Rai Cinema, who produced the film together with Kaos Cinematografica. "We are very proud of having contributed towards producing a work which falls in line with our production of civil cinema and which fully meets our mandate of public service, confirming the importance of the impact of Rai cinema and Rai on Italy’s culture and film industry".
