The 10th edition of the Sguardi Altrove International Women Directors’ Festival (Milan – 26 Feb-2 March) featured two competitive sections, an international showcase, and a section dedicated to Middle Eastern cinema.
The Kodak Award- Sguardi (S)confinati jury of actress Sandra Ceccarelli and Giuseppe Gariazzo, coordinated by Elisabetta Sgarbi, assigned the Kodak Award (1,200 meters of Kodak film stock) to La via delle bombe – Il sentiero di Ho Chi Minh by Roberta Ferrari and gave a special mention to Die For Me by Anna De Manincor.
The Sguardo delle donne - Regione Lombardia Award jury of Marina Spada, Francesco Tofoni, Graziella Gattulli and Laura Fredmer voted for Viaggio intorno a Miracolo a Milano by Sanela Bajric. As an additional prize, this film will be promoted by the Regione Lombardia and the Italian Film Archive Foundation by means of a series of screenings scheduled for April at the Museum of Cinema in Milan.
Screened out of competition in the lo sguardo dell’altro section, Palestra Paradiso by Sabina Uberti Bona and La Città Senza Alberi by Laura Leviani received special mentions.
