Selections open for 9th edition of Venice Days

The selection process is now open for taking part in the Venice Days, the independent event on the fringes of the Venice Film Festival, which this year celebrates its ninth edition and will be taking place from August 30 - September 8.

Until July 6, 2012, those wishing to enter their works for selection should fill out the online registration form. The Venice Days programme will include an official Selection (12 fiction feature films or documentaries from all over the world), the 'Spazio Aperto' section (maximum 7 Italian works, with priority given to documentaries and to experimental works) and a limited number of special events and tributes.

In order to be selected, films must be premiering if Italian, and be in world or international premiere if they have been made in other countries; they must be fiction films or documentaries of at least 60 minutes; they must be available in 35mm or in DCP to be screened in Venice.

The works will be selected by the Delegate General, Giorgio Gosetti, and by an international committee of experts comprising Elena Manrique, Agnès-Catherine Poirier, Tadeusz Sobolewski and Adrian Wootton, with advice from Maurizio Di Rienzo, Alberto Iannuzzi, Anna Pomara, Boris Sollazzo and Miroljub Vuckovic.
