A Genie award for Romance

Swiss filmmaker Georges Schwizgebel, famous worldwide for his animation films, received the Award for Best Animated Short for Romance during the 32nd Genie Awards ceremony, Canada’s answer to the Oscars, on March 8 in Toronto.
Co-produced by the National Film Board of Canada, the Genevan filmmaker’s latest film has already been a great success with the critics, with over 20 selections for various festivals worldwide. It has so far received five awards, including one at the Anima film festival, held two weeks ago in Brussels.
Georges Schwizgebel had previously competed for a Genie in 2004 and 2006, when his production The Man with No Shadow took away the award for Best Television Production of the Year.
