Dench dubs “Bugs!”

by

Dame Judi Dench (Mrs Brown, Die Another Day) will lend her voice to Bugs!, a large-format 3D live-action film about the fascinating universe of insects, magnified up to 250,000 times their normal size for the big screen.
“It has been a thrill to work with Judi and to witness her masterful touch with the material,” said Phil Streather who produced the film with Alexandre Ferguson.
The 40-minute film featuring at least 40 insects was shot on location in the jungles of Borneo and in the UK where a microcosm of a tropical rainforest was replicated in a studio for close-ups. The film was directed by Mike Slee (who made the IMAX 2D films Wildfire-Feel the Heat and Legend of Loch Lomond) and executive-produced by Simon Relph (Hideous Kinky) and Peter Fudakowski from the UK Film and TV Company.
Bugs! is the first large-format 3D feature film to have benefited from substantial UK financing via The Film Consortium in association with the Film Council, and the UKFTV.
Distributed by SK Films Inc. of Toronto to the worldwide network of IMAX and other large format theatres, Bugs! will have its world premiere on 18 March at the IMAX theatre in the Smithsonian Institute’s National Museum of Natural History in Bristol.
