Zacharie Chasseriaud finds his feet in Deux temps, Trois mouvements
- The young hero from Les Géants is to return in Christophe Cousin’s first feature, for which filming starts in Canada this May.
On May 22, filming will start for Deux temps, Trois mouvements, Christophe Cousin’s first feature film to feature Zacharie Chasseriaud (Les Géants [+see also:

film profile]), Aure Atika, and Canadian actress Anne-Marie Cadieux.
In the film’s screenplay, written by the director, Victor (Zacharie Chasseriaud) has come to live in Québec with his mother (Aure Atika) after his father’s death a year earlier in France, and is unhappy. One day, he inadvertently witnesses a teenager’s suicide. On the school’s roof, he tries to stop François from jumping off... but, surprised by his intervention, François loses his balance, falls, and crashes to the ground below. Coming to terms with this fatal gesture will help Victor to find his place in this new setting, bring him closer to his mother, and alleviate the pain of his father’s death.
Produced by Céline Maugis and Christophe Delsaux for La Vie est Belle Films Associés (who recently coproduced Orly [+see also:
film profile]), Deux temps, Trois mouvements is co-produced by Canadian production companies Amérique Films and Parallaxes. The film has also received an advance on receipts from the French National Centre for Cinema and the moving image (CNC). All five weeks of shooting to start on May 22 will be in Québec. The film’s release in French cinemas will probably be managed by A3 Distribution, a new company to make its debut on March 28 with Spanish co-production A Useful Life [+see also:
film profile] and that was started up by La Vie est Belle Films’ two producers with Nicolas Brévière (Local Films) and the duo Vikash Dhorasso – Pierre Walfisz (Trompe Le Monde). International sales will be led by Alpha Violet.
