BUFF's 20th

BUFF, one of Scandinavia's leading children's film festival, is celebrating its 20th anniversary. The festival will take place in the southern Swedish city of Malmö from 11-16 March.
A total of 92 films will screen in Competition, World Panorama, New Nordic Films, New Young Swedish Films, Danish Documentaries and a selection of classics from twenty BUFF events.
10 new children's films will compete for the City of Malmö Children's and Young People's Film Award which includes a cash prize of Euros 5,500 and an iron statuette.
They include five Scandinavian films: the 2003 Berlinale-Kinderfilmfest winner Elina (Finland/Sweden), Wallah Be (Denmark), Someone Like Hodder (Denmark), One-Way Ticket To Mombasa (Finland), Strong As a Lion (Sweden) as well as An Angel For May (UK), Do Fish Do It? (Germany), Heaven Comes Tomorrow (Poland).
BUFF will open with 25 Children And One Daddy (China), and close with You Are Free (Iran). Most of the directors whose films are in competition will attend the Festival as will former BUFF winners including John Hay (There Is Only One Jimmy Grimble) and Michel Ozelot (Kirikou).
The New Young Swedish Films programme includes 12 short, medium and feature films, including the short film that Josef Fares made on graduating from the LINK Dramatiska Institutet Kom Då!.
