Rome IFF: 2012 edition from November 9-17
- Such was the decision taken at the members meeting, but the BoD will have to ratify. Complaints about the overlap with the Turin FF
The 2012 edition of the Rome International Film Festival will take place from November 9-17, as requested by the artistic director Marco Müller. This was the decision taken by the assembly of members who today also approved the budget, €11M, and the programme for the festival, presided over by Paolo Ferrari. "The Board of Directors will ratify the dates in the coming days, exchanging views with Turin and with the Minister for Cutural Goods", said the capital's mayor, Gianni Alemanno, at the end of the meeting.
This was a reference to the complaints raised in the last few days, in response to the news of the dates being shifted: the director of the Turin Film Festival, Gianni Amelio, and Turin's mayor, Piero Fassino, had sounded the alarm on the supposed overlap between the two events (the Turin Film Festival is scheduled from November 23 - December 1).
