July 8-15 sees a new edition, its tenth, of the Ischia Global Film & Music Fest. In the past this event has often been geared towards unknown artists who have become overnight stars - such as Michael Fassbender, Gerard Butler, Forrest Whitaker, Michel Hazanavicius - this edition also promises to unveil some exceptional talent. Lee Daniel's (Precious) Paperboy, selected in Competition at the Cannes Film Festival, will open the programme of screenings. Rupert Sanders's Snow White and the Huntsman is also showing, as is Kirk Jones's What to Expect When You’re Expecting and Stephen Frears's Lay the Favorite. Particularly worth noting is the V Global Production Summit - "The film and television industry at a crossroads between greater product demand and a decreased availability of resources",chaired by the Oscar-winning set designers Dante Ferretti and Francesca Lo Schiavo, with talks from a number of international producers.

Also on the programme is the V World Script Market, chaired by the writer Valerio Massimo Manfredi with a contribution from Paul Haggis.

For young actors there is a Movie Educational Seminar, a master-class by the American coach Bernard Hiller with the participation of Joel, Simon Curtis,Terry Gilliam, Fernando Solanas, Bille August, Rob Reiner and Lina Wertmuller.
