25/06/2012 - Intramovies opens to the domestic market: with a new company that will distribute in Italian theatres any film that Intramovies sells abroad

After forty years of activity in the international distribution sector and more than 600 films sold abroad, Intramovies opens to the national market: thus Intramovies Picks is born, a company that will distribute every film that Intramovies sells abroad.

The list of Intramovies Picks will be oriented towards the search of “small discoveries” that have been neglected by traditional distributors. The first of the 5/6 titles that will make up the 2012/2014 biennium is As Melhores Coisas Do Mundo (Rome Film Festival 2010, Alice nella Città) by the Brazilian director Laís Bodanzky and En la Cama, the award winning directorial debut of the Chilean Matías Bize. Both will be released in Italian theatres next autumn.

Marco Vario Fusco, director of Intramovies Picks stated: “Intramovies has and always will represent foreign film productions. In an Italian market where traditional distribution is strongly linked to television’s subsequent acquirement of the film (for obvious reasons of return on investment), these films usually do not find space. Intramovies Picks, is an agile and unconventional tool for distributions; the tagline of this distribution adventure”.
