Diane Kruger to star in Me Myself and Mum
- The German actress and Guillaume Gallienne are to star in the latter's first feature film as a director, as he adapts his successful play to the big screen.
How can you possibly become a man when your mother and everybody else around you have decided otherwise? This is exactly what Guillaume Gallienne explores in his first feature, Me Myself and Mum (Les garçons et Guillaume à table), for which shooting has been ongoing since July 2. The director has adapted his play of the same name for the film's screenplay, which recounts Guillaume's tragicomic battle from the young age of eight, as he adopts the role of a girl then of a homosexual... until, aged 30, he meets the woman who, after his mother, will become the other woman in his life. Beyond this story of a heterosexual coming-out, the film tells the tale of an actor who, from the French bourgeoisie to the stage, never stopped loving women, maybe even a little too much…
