World of Silence in Athens

Having toured Greece, World of Silence, a documentary about the everyday lives of deaf people and the first film to have been made using Greek sign language, was screened at the Municipal Cinema of Chalandri in Athens on 12 March. The message behind this film directed by Loukia Rikaki is that cinema has an important role to play in bridging the gap between the hearing and the silent worlds. World of Silence was co-produced by the Greek Film Centre and Greek public broadcaster NET.
