Such was the success and popularity of the events organised by the Austrian Film Museum in Vienna during European film heritage week, also known as "Cined@ys" (18-21 November 2002), that the institution has decided to organise a new series of events for those students and teachers who were unable to attend the first time.
Adventure Film, organised by the Museum with the support of the Vienna Film Fund, the municipal school council and the Austrian Culture Service, will run from 18 March to 9 May. The programme includes a number of special screenings for students and young people presented by prominent filmmakers and journalists. The intent is to inform young people about film as an art form.
Director Ulrich Seidl will get the ball rolling on 18 March with the screening of his Models, followed, on 20 March, by Barbara Albert with her debut feature, Nordrang. The Adventure Film highlights include film journalist Veronica Franz introducing Robert Bresson’s Mouchette on 2 April, and historian and journalist Peter Huemer moderating a discussion with students and their teachers about "Propaganda and anti-propaganda in Film" on 9 April. The complete program is available from the Film Museum website.
