Swedish Film Institute appoints 2

The Board of the Swedish Film Institute has a new member, Peter Curman. He succeeds Gunnar Bergdahl, the former head of the Göteborg Film Festival and the recent winner of a Guldbagge Award for his documentary, The Voice of Ludmilla.
Curman, a former editor of the cultural desk at Swedish daily newspaper, “Aftonbladet” who went on to become an established writer, took up his new position on 7 March and his mandate will end on 31 December 2004. Presided over by Åse Kleveland, the SFI 8-member board includes film producer Lars Jönsson (Lilja 4-Ever [+see also:

) and director Christina Olofsson (Touched by an Angel).
In a separate move, the SFI also appointed Jan Holmberg as head of programming at the Cinematheque, the Institute’s film club that was established in 1964 and screens old and new art house films at its five screens in Stockholm, Göteborg and Malmö.
