(Alfred Bauer Award, FIPRESCI Award and finalist for the 2012 European parliament LUX Prize), Gomes is considered one of the most promising contemporary Lusitanian directors. His films present a surreal reality, where characters are a trapped between adulthood and childhood, and where the narrator oscillates between documentary and fiction, picturesque rigour and vintage taste.
