TrailersFilmFestival: promoting and putting films in a good light

- In Catania, workshops and talks on film promotion campaigns, the art of poster making and guidance for actors

The TrailersFilmFest, will return to Catania from September 26-29. The trailer film festival, directed by Stefania Bianchi, is in its tenth edition. It is the only festival of its kind in Italy and Europe, handing out awards for best trailers to distribution houses. The three days will include workshops, talks with professionals from the promotion sector, lectures on cinema jobs, trailer reviews and projections of unreleased films. Among this year’s guests will be directors Leonardo Pieraccioni and Mimmo Calopresti, who will preside over the jury for best trailer. br>
The festival programme will include a workshop on coming up with a film launch plan. This workshop will be held by Fandango marketing director Gianluca Pignataro who will teach participants to make trailers, advertise and create online campaigns for films about to be released. Another event on working in cinema and fiction: who to turn to and the importance of direction, will be headed by the OSA – the European Institute for Direction in Theatre and Visual Arts (Istituto Europeo di Orientamento allo Spettacolo e Arti Visive), based in Rome. This will be aimed at people wanting to have a career in acting. Others will include a meeting with Marco Innocenti from Brivido & Sganascia, who will talk about cinema poster making, and a talk between Federica Tremolada, Strategic Partner Manager at Youtube and Rodrigo Cipriani Foresio, president of the Luce Cinecittà Institute. The will discuss how to best use YouTube content, with a case study from the Luce archives.

The twenty Pitch Trailers making up the competition will also be shown – an opportunity for independent artists to pitch an idea they have for a film they would like to make.
